A well-established rehabilitation center providing Inpatient Rehab, Skilled Nursing Rehab, Skilled Nursing and Long Term Care is seeking a full-time Clinical Liaison. This established, high-acuity rehabilitation center is CARF accredited and serves Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. As a Clinical Liaison, you will have the ability to use your clinical skills while working in a strategic business environment. This is a new position for a growing Clinical Liaison Team.

JOB SUMMARY: A clinical liaison serves as an advocate for patients during the pre-admissions process for rehabilitation services. The clinical liaison is responsible for facilitating the exchange of information between Facility and its target markets in order to understand and satisfy the needs and wants of all parties involved in the process. The overall goal of the clinical liaison is to generate appropriate referrals and to facilitate successful admissions for rehabilitation purposes in a timely and customer service oriented manner. Additionally, the clinical liaison is to assist in the development and creation of leads with managed care contracts, various facilities and physician development opportunities and/or competition updates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Establish patient eligibility for rehabilitation through various methods such as but not limited to reviewing patients’ medical records, test results, therapy evaluations, pre-existing conditions, pharmaceuticals, communicating with hospital staff and verifying health insurance coverage and needs.
• Communicate with patients, patient families, case managers, medical teams, etc. about rehabilitation needs, options and expectations at Facility. Communicate with Facility’s Medical Director, nursing staff, therapy team, social worker and case managers, etc. with regards to incoming patient goals, needs and expectations.
• Develop relationships in the community on behalf of Facility.
• Schedule speaking engagements, education opportunities, facility tours, etc. within Facility, at various facilities and at community events with goals of at least 2 events per month.
• Attend various conference and trade shows representing Facility.
• Perform marketing and sales duties to bring awareness of Facility’s strengths and services, with goals of 7 – 10 sales calls per day to new and existing referral sources.
• Identify market needs and competition to establish new pathways and opportunities for increased referral sources.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Interact clearly and professionally with patients and families, while gathering clinical information and patient history.
• Must be customer service oriented, have excellent negotiation and persuasion skills as an active listener.
• Must have computer skills and knowledge of databases such as MS Excel, Word, etc.
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
• Must have excellent organizational skills and be an effective time manager.
• Must be neat and well groomed.

Education/Requirements
• Valid driver’s license with working vehicle and insurance.
• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Physical Therapist, Certified Physical Therapist Assistant or Certified Occupational Therapist, Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant or Certified Speech Language Pathologist or Certified Respiratory Therapist or Certified Social Worker/Case Manager.
• Neuro, Brain Injury, TBI, and/or Critical Care Highly Preferred.
